You know how sometimes you just know someone is going to be awesome? That’s how I felt after about two seconds communicating with Alex. And then she, Chris, and I Skyped and I knew it was meant to be. When we finally met in person for their engagement session, it was like greeting old friends, and we had such a blast running around Dubuque. Alex and Chris, thank you so much for spending a wonderful day with me! I’m so blessed to call you clients, and even more so to call you friends. XOXO, Rachel
We started off the day with a few photos in front of Chris’s parents’ house. They have a tree that was flowering beautifully and it made for some great images!
We then headed to the Ham House in Dubuque. While we didn’t actually get any photos in front of the house, they had this lovely shed that I adored.
I just love how much they laugh together.
I’m usually a crisp color girl, but lately I’ve really been diggin’ the black & white edits a lot. Alex, you are GORGEOUS.
My heart pretty much skipped a beat when Alex brought out this hat. It looks amazing on her!
A quick drive to Eagle Point Park and an outfit change and we were rockin’ some off-camera flash!
Don’t these two belong in a magazine or something? Wow.
Alex really wanted a shot in front of the Mississippi River, and I’m so glad she requested it. I love these next images so much!
Since Alex and Chris are high school sweethearts (they started dating when they were SIXTEEN!), we went back to their old stomping grounds to round out the shoot. Aren’t they freaking adorable??
