Growing up, my family lived in the country, but not on a farm or a ranch. I didn’t participate in 4H and our high school didn’t have FFA. But when I went off to college at the University of Nebraska, the dorm I was placed in was on East Campus – the agricultural campus. It ended up being one of the best things to happen in my life. I met so many awesome people and learned all about this amazing way of life that I hadn’t really been involved in. Fast forward and now I’m married to a rancher’s son, and although we’ll probably never take over the family business, it’s still an incredible thing to be a part of. Branding is my favorite part of the farm/ranch life. The little calves are so adorable, and everyone gets together to have a great time. It’s hard work (except for maybe the official branding photographer), but it’s a blast. Oh, and then we grill steaks afterward. I was too busy chowing down to take pictures of that… oops.
Hey, look! It’s me!
