We didn’t send out Christmas cards this year. Firstly, I wasn’t on top of things and kinda forgot. Secondly, we’re trying out this whole “create less waste” lifestyle, and even though Christmas cards are super fun, they’re a bit unnecessary and wasteful. (Meaning, they usually just go in the trash after the holidays…) So this post will hopefully replace our cards. But I totally understand that it’s not as exciting as getting mail that’s not bills or junk.
So here’s what we were up to in 2014.
Lots of laying in the sun on cold winter mornings. The dog did it, too.
Testing our skills at ice skating…
New lens technique (that never really took off for me):
I found out that I absolutely love birds and bird watching.
The Mister’s sister got married in Texas!
My buddy Amy had a babbbby.
I am awkward. (We all knew this though.)
Dixie found a love of squirrels. And barking at them from windows.
We played lots of softball. (And by we, of course, I mean the Mister. I am not coordinated enough for softball.)
We floated down a river. I didn’t get sunburnt!
We prepped our lovely apartment for ads online in anticipation for buying a home. Dixie had no clue why our place was so clean. It was weird to her. (And me. Where are my messes??)
The Mister took his first selfie. Like, he’s actually holding a camera you guys!
I shot a ton of weddings. Twelve to be exact. I didn’t reach my goal of 20 but 2015 is looking promising!
We bought a house. No big deal.
My BFF got married! She looked stunning. And who would have thought that her outdoor wedding on October 25 in NEBRASKA would have perfect weather. It was wonderful.
We hung out with the coolest niece ever.
And sanded. (And painted some more. So. Much. Painting.) We’re still not done.
Merry Christmas everyone! Here’s to 2015 being our best year yet!
