Journey into Film | Chelsea

So, I’m filing this under seniors because I’m not really sure where else to put it. Chelsea is not a high school senior, but her shoot is more representative of that category than anything else. For all you photographers and film geeks out there, I’ll include camera and film stock details for the photos. This is my first serious dive into film and the photos are how they came straight from FIND Lab, no editing on my part.

Canon AE-1, Kodak Ultramax 400 (rated at 320):

These two are seriously some of my all-time favorites from the shoot.

I really love how well the Ultramax handled full sun as well. So gorgeous. And it’s a “cheap” film stock!

Pentax K-1000, Kodak Portra 400 (rated at 200):

I was convinced this was going to be my absolute favorite film stock, but I do not like how the colors on this roll turned out. Just not my style. I don’t know if it’s because it wasn’t exposed properly or what. I’ve got a few more rolls to try so maybe next time it’ll turn out better.

Canon AE-1, Kodak Ultramax 400 (rated at 320):

Pentax K-1000, Fuji 400H (rated at 200):

Just as I was so convinced I would love the Portra 400, I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to like the Fuji. Boy was I wrong. I am so smitten by this film stock!

All-time favorite from the shoot. The colors, the bokeh, I just love everything.
